Myofascial RELEASE

WHAT IS MYOFASCIAL RELEASE?

Myofascial release is a manual therapy technique aimed at releasing tensions in the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, bones and organs in the body. This technique involves applying gentle sustained pressure to specific points in the fascia to relieve pain and restore proper movement. It can be performed through various methods including manual hands-on techniques, foam rolling, trigger point therapy, and stretching. The goal of myofascial release is to reduce pain and improve mobility and flexibility in the body.

foam ROLLING

Foam rolling is a self-massage technique where a person uses a foam roller to apply pressure to specific muscle groups and fascia. This helps to release tension and improve flexibility, circulation, and range of motion. It is often used as a form of self-myofascial release (SMR) and is considered an effective way to prevent injury and alleviate muscle soreness.

We will teach you the correct technique of foam rolling and advise you on the most suitable foam roller that suits your needs to get the most benefit and avoid injury whilst foam rolling.

trigger point therapy / trigger point release

Trigger point therapy is a type of massage therapy that focuses on the release of tension in specific areas of the body, known as trigger points. These points are tight knots of muscle fibers that can cause pain, discomfort, and referred pain (pain felt in another part of the body). The therapist applies pressure to these trigger points to relieve the tension and reduce pain. Trigger point therapy is often used to treat conditions such as headaches, back pain, and neck pain.
